ㅤbiography.ㅤ Originally slated to become the matriarch of his clan, Yakov found himself utterly disinterested in even the possibility, finding such a role to be contradictory to the feelings that lingered in his chest. Abandoning said clan, he took on his old name as his new lost surname.He was but the tender age of 15 when he left, in his travels he was beset by Garleans and captured. There was talk of sending him off to a camp meant to "educate" others like him and fall in line with Garlean values. At that age, he was already aware to a degree of what Garlemald's been up to, especially with his own royal education in mind he wouldn't soon forget what they'd done to Bozja. After several gruelling months of hard labor under garlean order, his savior would come in the unlikely form of internal resistance.there were underground pockets of resistance towards garlemald's imperialism and inhumane treatment of their fellow men, this cell of resistance was lead by a reaper of Lapis Manalis, long separated from others of his ilk as a survivor of the purge, and later yakov would come to learn over his methods. Basilos viator Brutus was the man who saw to yakov's rescue alongside the others who'd been enslaved beside him.basilos immediately saw the fire that stoked in the young man's spirit at what had been done to he and others like him, and took him under his wing. yakov created a pact shortly upon beginning his apprenticeship under basilos. the voidsent he successfully pacted with was a blackguard named malicent, and the voidsent held the same standards of honor and justice that yakov felt right.years would pass as he was molded into a deadly assassin against the imperial forces that encroached upon eorzean soil. all would come to a head, however, when basilos was publicly executed after a botched mission meant to destabilize garlean forces. there were 9 generals involved in the execution of the man who was like a father to yakov.there will be 9 executions by the reaper's blade.now that the war is over, however, yakov's... extracurricular activities in vigilante justice have been pushed further underground. as he dreams of finding and killing those generals, he offers his services in dispatching problematic voidsent.
